Abstract

This research deals ( Measurement of verb in terms of meaning). In this study, the verb as a main element of sentences is investigated and measured in terms of meaning. This measurement of the verb was influenced by Osgood's perspective, which determined the degree of the adjective. The study has defined seven grades for opposite verbs, in which the morphemes of degree, negative, and adverbs are involved. By classifying a verb into seven degrees, the researcher is able to become familiar with the speaker's insights and feelings, which plays an important role in the treatment of mental illness. The study consists of two sections. In the first section, the concept of semantic measurement and the types of semantic measurement are discussed. In the second section, the measure of the meaning of verb is discussed, including the semantic distinction method, which the researcher has employed because it is hierarchical, reflects the insights of the experiencer, and has an impact on psychotherapy.
