Abstract

This article's abstract focuses on the Anfal crime committed by the Iraqi government against the Kurdish people in southern Kurdistan, specifically highlighting its negative impact on the Anfal survivors, particularly women. The research is based on scientific sources and interviews with individuals who experienced the Anfal crime, with a specific focus on their role as family care providers. The content of the research is divided into three main parts, each containing several topics. The first part explores the history and geography of the Chamchamal district, while the second part delves into the concept of Anfal and the Iraqi government's policy in carrying out these incidents, considering Anfal as an international crime. The third section examines the effects of Anfal crime on the remaining women of the Chamchamal border from 1988 to 2000, covering social, economic, and psychological aspects. The conclusion drawn is that Anfal was a criminal program with the Iraqi government aiming to destroy the Kurdish individuals, their territory, and the Kurdish community as a whole.
