Abstract

Revolutionary journalism, or as it is locally known, ‘mountain journalism’. Revolutionary journalism besides playing a significant role in spreading nationalist awareness and feelings among the public as well as raising the spirit of defense and encouraging the Kurdish people to take the path of struggle and defend the land. It has been able to record all the hardships and tragedies that Kurdish people faced.

Working during the era of Kurdistan revolutions, Kurdish journalists have been able to establish a rich archive, which if we look at it carefully and evaluate it, we can testify to its importance and richness.

Alay Azadi Newspaper. As A the main mouthpiece for Iraqi Kurdistan Socialist Party. It’s one of the newspapers Worthy of research. The first phase of Alai Azadi newspaper, known as the mountain phase, has its unique significance and it was published in 1986-1988 in the liberated areas under the control of the Kurdistan Peshmerga forces in addition to writing about the situation and strategy of the revolution. It also has recorded several historical events of that period, during Kurdistan people's liberation struggle.

The study also looks at the importance of the newspaper Alai Azadi in recording events related to the struggle of the Kurdistan People's Liberation Movement and guerrilla warfare in this significant and sensitive period of Kurdish revolution.
