Abstract

Transport is of grea t importance in various aspec ts of the da ily life of the individual and society, such as the social,
ec onomic, ed uca tional, hea lth and service aspec ts. The poor public transport sec tor lead s to many problems, so the
main objec tive of this resea rch is to highlight the importance of public transport and the problems it suffers from
in the Kurdistan Region. The method used in this resea rch is the descriptive method by the method of analyzing
read y-made da ta. The resea rch reac hed several conclusions, including the relationship of the transportation proce ss
with other structural systems of society and the wea kness of public transportation with the increa se in the perce ntage
of urba n population, which prompted citizens to buy private ca rs, and this led to an increa se in acc idents and
environmental pollution.
